Boost 1l;5l

A supplement providing energy to help counteract metabolic stress in pregnant ewes.
For Sheep:- Twin lamb disease (pregnancy toxaemia) occurs in the last two months of pregnancy.
- 70% of lamb growth occurs in this period.
- Lots of energy is required whilst at the same time the ewe's rumen is being reduced in size by the increased volume of the womb.
- Clinical signs include lack of energy, blindness, trembling and loss of appetite caused by reduced rumen size.
- Complications often include hypocalcaemia and so it is recommended that ewe be treated with Calciject CMD and Boost.
For Cattle- Boost is recommended for use in cattle suffering from ketosis.
- Ketosis occurs when a cow has an inadequate supply of carbohydrates and fats.
- The cow is then forced to use its fat reserves to supply itself with energy.
- As a by product the cow produces ketones which are highly toxic to the animal particularly to the kidneys.
- All dairy cows in early lactation are at risk of ketosis with incidence rates of between 5-16%
- Clinical signs include sweet smelling breath, irritability, low milk protein, lack of energy and cessation of milk production.
